Quick and Easy Ginger Peanut Sauce

Peanut Sauce recipes seem to be a dime a dozen on the intertubes and though they can vary widely depending on whether they’re ‘Thai’ or ‘Indonesian’ or ‘Fusion’ or ‘blah blah blah’, they all start with peanuts…hence the name…unlike Duck Sauce

We, of course, had to come up with our own easy version because we’re lazy. And we don’t want to have to cook it. And we need to have the stuff on hand to make it all the time. And we were making these Turkey Lettuce Wraps and we needed Peanut Sauce in a hurry. So our version is a pretty basic but we’ve found that we make it all the time now and the Turkey Lettuce Wraps have become my favorite new lunch.

The goods:

  • 1 cup Peanut Butter (we use Jif, ashamed to say it but it’s what we like)
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • The juice of 1 Lime
  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce (we use the gold label Tamari from San-J)
  • 3 Tbsp Garlic Chili Sauce (we use XO, but there’s zillions of brands out there. It’s cheap, too!!)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp Freshly Grated Ginger (need a Microplane Grater/Zester?)

Whisk the whole mess together…pretty simple stuff, really.

  1. Totally. I know that the whole Jif/Ginger/Lime thing is a little like matter/anti-matter but we haven’t spontaneously combusted yet. Thanks for dropping by!
